The Phoenix Convention Center is proud to host the 7th World Parkinson Congress (WPC) May 24–27, 2026, welcoming more than 3,800 delegates from 63 countries for four days of learning, collaboration, and advancement in Parkinson’s research and care.

In preparation for this significant global event, 83 Phoenix Convention Center employees, and hundreds of other service industry employees around the city, participated in the WPC’s Parkinson Ready™ Phoenix training program to ensure an inclusive and supportive experience for their attendees. The training focused on understanding the needs of 25% of their delegates who are living with Parkinson’s disease and emphasized the importance of patience and thoughtful interaction.

“This event shows our commitment to becoming a welcoming environment for all our clients, especially those who may require specialized or extra care,” said Jerry Harper, Director of the Phoenix Convention Center & Venues. “We are grateful the World Parkinson Coalition® selected us to host the triennial World Parkinson Congress on their return to North America after 10 years of being outside the USA, and we look forward to showing them the best that Phoenix has to offer.”

Key guidance shared with staff included recognizing that guests may take longer to respond to questions, walk through the facility, or enter elevators. Staff were encouraged to expect delays in speech and movement and to remain calm and supportive. One helpful strategy taught was silently counting to ten before repeating a question or offering additional assistance—allowing individuals the time and space they may need to respond comfortably.

“We’re honored to serve as the host city for the 7th World Parkinson Congress and to welcome more than 3,800 delegates as the event returns to North America,” said Ron Price, President and CEO of Visit Phoenix. “Our destination has prepared for this important gathering through participation in the Parkinson Ready Phoenix Program and close collaboration with community partners to help ensure WPC 2026 is a resounding success. We look forward to the momentum generated at the conference in advancing research, innovation, and care for individuals living with Parkinson’s.”

The Phoenix Convention Center and its partners look forward to welcoming delegates from across the globe and supporting the vital work being shared at WPC 2026.
