The Phoenix Convention Center holds itself to the highest standard of sustainability. Why? Because the future of Phoenix depends on it. Through thoughtful, green thinking and design, we’ve achieved our goal of a premiere meeting and event space that will withstand the environmental tests of the future.
Over 45 tons of our compost feeds plants in city parks.
One of the biggest contributors to climate change is carbon released from wasted food. Our catering partner, Aventura, participates in the Waste Not recycling program, which sends leftover food to food banks. This cuts down on carbon emissions and ensures that food goes to people who need it the most.
No one knows the importance of water conservation more than Arizonans. To ensure that PCC’s water use remains low, we’ve taken steps to reduce water usage including installing, efficient irrigation systems along with the use of low-flow toilets and urinals.
We took great care to ensure that environmentally responsible materials were used in construction of PCC. In addition, energy-star certified roofing materials along with the addition of underground parking have reduced the PCC’s impact on the urban heat island effect in Phoenix. Our efforts enabled us to achieve LEED-Silver Certification from the US Green Building Council.
