Citizen Police Academy - Sgt Sonny Hudson
The goal of the Citizen's Police Academy is to increase awareness and understanding of law enforcement's role in the community. During the academy students participate in firearms demonstrations and are introduced to the K-9 units and Special Assignments Unit. Other class topics include police ethics, discipline policy/philosophy, radio communications, drug enforcement, gang enforcement, traffic laws and D.U.I. Executive and veteran officers teach the classes, and students are encouraged to ask questions and express concerns. For more information click here.
City of Phoenix Employees' Community Service Fund Drive

An effort to raise funds to help those in the community who need assistance. Contributions raised during the four-week campaign help to fund more than 350 organizations that provide health and human services to one of every three Valley residents. The Special Programs Detail implements this campaign for the entire Police Department.
