After the terrorist attacks on September 11 th, the Bomb Squad saw its calls for service increase exponentially. The squad formed a partnership with the Phoenix Fire Department, using bomb technicians and Fire Hazardous Materials experts to respond to calls of suspicious powders or suspicious packages. The suspected item was bagged and taken to the State Lab for analysis. To date none of the tested samples have proven to be anthrax or any other suspected biological threat.
