The Phoenix Parks and Recreation Department and the Shemer Art Center and Museum Association (SACAMA) have formed a unique and exciting partnership that will keep the award-winning center and its popular art classe
s and exhibits open to the public. When the recent budget crisis left the city unable to fund the center, the Association stepped up to take over day-to-day operation of the center beginning July 1, 2010. So art lovers will continue to be able enjoy the center's dynamic exhibits of local art, its popular art classes and its beautiful sculpture garden. The city will continue to help maintain the building and the surrounding grounds.
SACAMA's Fall/Winter 2010-11 class schedule includes programs for kids to adults in everything from ceramics to silver and bronze casting to a variety of painting classes.
