The Park is located on North Tatum Boulevard at the 1,500 acre Reach 11 Recreation Area, 1.4 miles north of Bell Road, just north of the Central Arizona Project Canal and just south of Hwy. 101.ATTENTION: Both the North and South trails from 32nd Street to Cave Creek roads will be closed while Phase II of the Sports Complex construction is being completed. Trails will be open from Tatum to 32nd Street and East of Tatum to Scottsdale Road.
Hours: Arizona Horse Lovers Park is open for public use seven days a week, from sunrise to sunset unless closed for special events or rented for exclusive use. Free evening open arena hours are 6 pm-9 pm, Wednesday-Thursday, unless closed due to weather, special event or holiday. For last minute arena closures, rainouts or changes call 602-534-9996 for recorded messages.

Facilities
Arizona Horse Lovers Park consists of four equestrian arenas. (map view) The main arena is a 360' x 180', lighted arena that features an announcer's stand, bleacher seating, and public address system. The second arena, Horse Lovers Arena, (roping) is a lighted 270' x 140' pipe rail arena with announcer's stand, bleacher seating, and public address system. The third arena, Schuff Arena, (cutting) is a 250' x 104' pipe rail arena that also offers lights, announcer's stand, bleacher seats, and public address system. The Park also offers a lighted practice paddock, water troughs, wash racks, tie stations, cattle pens, and picnic tables.
Special Events
The Parks and Recreation Department hosts events seasonally at Arizona Horse Lovers Park that are open to the public. Events may include; workshops or clinics on horsemanship, horse care, or horse management, practice nights for roping, team penning or barrels and family events like hayrides, kid rodeos or trail rides.
With cool fall weather just around the corner be sure to take advantage of our evening open arena nights weekly on Wednesday and Thursday nights. There will be opportunities for barrel practice as well as a new pole bending practice this summer. Be sure to check out the programs and classes on-line, and look up family events. Trail users should be aware of
the increase in wildlife sightings in the spring and summer. This includes
all varieties of snakes. The best practice is to stay on the trails
and always let the snake have the right-of-way. Enjoy your summer

Stay together- Never go out alone.
Coyote- The Coyote is a member of the "dog family". It likes to eat rabbits, mice, berries, and a variety of other foods. At dawn and at twilight, you may hear the Coyotes giving their howls, barks and yelps in a chorus. |

Javelina- The Javelina looks like a small, furry pig. It lives in brushy deserts and rocky canyons. Javelina live in small heards of 8 to 20 individuals and eat mostly roots, fruits, leaves and seeds. |
