ITEMS COLLECTED

Bulk trash is the solid waste from your home or yard that cannot be placed in your garbage or recycling container for weekly solid waste collection. Click on any of the icons to get a full size view of materials collected with city of Phoenix bulk trash service. These include:

 Tree limbs, branches, trunks and stumps four feet in length or shorter, and 12 inches or less in diameter. These dimensions protect the equipment and equipment operators.

 Palm fronds

 Grass and yard trimmings either bagged or boxed and securely tied.

 Old appliances washers, dryers, stoves and water heaters. (No appliances with refrigerant/CFC's. A special collection of appliances including those containing refrigerants, is available at any time for a nominal fee.)  Large cardboard moving boxes. Boxes can, and should, be broken down, cut into smaller pieces and placed in blue recycling containers. If you have a large number of boxes, flatten and stack them and contact Solid Waste Customer Service at 602-262-7251 to arrange a special collection.

ITEMS NOT COLLECTED

Bulk trash is the solid waste from your home or yard that cannot be placed in your garbage or recycling container for weekly city garbage collection. Click on any of the icons to get a full size view of materials not collected with city of Phoenix bulk trash service. These include:

 Appliances using CFC's or refrigerants - refrigerators, air conditioners, freezers, heat pumps, water coolers and dehumidifiers. These must be taken to a local landfill for proper disposal - Additional information - appliances with CFC's and special appliance/electronics collection and recycling program.

 Glass such as windows, shower doors, patio doors, mirrors, etc. Additional information - unacceptable items

Demolition debris, asphalt, bricks, dirt, broken concrete, concrete block, rocks or roofing material. This includes construction materials is excess of 25 pounds generated by a resident. Or ANY construction material generated by a contractor. Additional information - unacceptable items

Tires - Additional information


Metal or automobile parts greater than 20 pounds or longer than four feet in length. - For companies that accept automobile parts, consult the yellow pages under "Automobile Wreckers".

Boards, lumber, tree limbs, branches, stumps and trunks more than four feet in length or 12 inches in diameter.

Household hazardous waste - Additional information

Unbagged grass and yard trimmings

Any trash volume exceeding 20 cubic yards (a pile more than 10 feet long, 9 feet wide and 6 feet high).
