Phoenix Sister Cities Youth Ambassador Exchange: The Youth Ambassador Exchange Program is available to high school sophomores and juniors in the Phoenix area. This program offers students the opportunity to visit one of Phoenix’s 10 sister cities next summer to learn more about the city and its culture through a three-week home-hosted experience. Youth Empowerment Project Public Service Announcement: The PSA Competition engages teens in creating messages speaking to their peers about teen dating violence. This year’s categories include print and Web banner design. The competition is open through Friday, Dec. 12, 2008. Entries will be judged and prizes given to the top three winners in each category. The winning entries will be professionally produced and distributed throughout the region. Please visit the Web of Friends Web site for competition guidelines and entry forms.
Siemens We Can Change the World Challenge: Do you want to become an agent of change? An eco hero? The Siemens We Can Change the World Challenge is an invitation for middle school students to do just that. With the help of an adult mentor, groups of two to three students can identify an environmental issue in their community, research it, develop a plan, collect data, analyze that data, and share the results they've found so far. Prizes will be awarded to chosen winners. Applications are due by March 15th, 2009.
