Arts Education Schools

Eligibility

Phoenix public schools and school districts, non-profit private and charter schools within the City of Phoenix, and schools whose student population is drawn largely from students who reside within the Phoenix city limits are eligible to apply for Arts Education Grants for Schools.

New applicants are encouraged to apply for funding. Grant awards are not based on prior funding history. Schools that were not funded in the past are encouraged to apply again.

Grants can be written by:

  • An individual teacher on behalf of a school or a group of schools
  • An individual parent/guardian on behalf of a school or a group of schools
  • A member of a school's PTO on behalf of a school
  • Principals or other administrators on behalf of a school or a group of schools


Funding Restrictions

Grant funds cannot be used for:
  • Construction or renovation of facilities
  • Feasibility studies
  • Capital expenditures
  • Reduction of debts
  • Receptions
  • Lobbying expenses
  • Fundraising projects
  • Re-granting
  • Scholarship programs
  • Staff salaries
  • Memberships or dues

The city of Phoenix cannot legally fund applications from organizations incorporated for religious purposes.
